-Real Live Reindeer: Arctic Ambassador's Visit to Sharpe Reservation!-

Come to Sharpe Reservation’s Maple Celebration and meet real live reindeer from Santa’s Workshop, North Pole, NY. The artic animals of the world, such as polar bears, penguins and reindeer suffer the most from climate change as their world literally melts beneath their feet. These arctic ambassador’s will introduce you to a 10 step process of simple changes you can make in your home to reduce your carbon footprint.

-Maple Syrup Production-

Visit the Sharpe Sugar Shack in action.  An educator will lead you through the process from sap to syrup.

-Hudson Valley’s Annual Maple Syrup Judging Contest-

Watch as a panel of judges taste test and determine the best syrup in the Valley.  This is an event not to be missed!

-Planetarium-

The Gustafson Planetarium will entertain you with Native American star legends and up-to-date information about the solar system and other celestial events. ($2.00 donation per person.)

-The Charcoal Pits Hike-

Visit our charcoal pits and collier’s hut, and discover the history of charcoal making in the Hudson Valley.     

-Living off of the Land-

This area will feature ongoing demonstrations of various primitive skills, such as fire building, rope making, and other interactive skills of living off the land.

-Live Music-

Listen to live music in our spacious dining hall while enjoying a BBQ lunch by a roaring fire.

-Other Activities-

Interpretive driving tour of Sharpe Reservation, Teams Course, Nature Discovery Room and Puppet shows. BBQ Lunch offered.
